Remembering the Winter Ice Storms

Growing up in Eastern Pennsylvania we had allot of snow in the winter but not many ice storms.  When  I moved to upstate New York in 2008 this was something that seemed to be happening quite often that year.  As a new photographer it gave me many opportunities to take lots of frozen winter wonderland type photos. I would go out day and night and walk around on the cold crunchy snow and look for subjects to photograph.

The photo shown below is one of the photos from that year.  Just a cute little sparrow sitting on some frozen branches.  The white streaks you see in the background of the photo is the freezing rain that is falling from the sky. I would feed these little birdies daily as I did many deer and squirrels that year.  It was a pretty tough winter for the animals that year ( as it was for this human, lol)
